2010 Singlefile Barossa Valley Shiraz
Halliday 95/100
Wine & Spirits 93/100
Color, nose and palate
The wine is a deep red-purple and displays powerful aromas of rich blueberry, sweet cacao, coffee, touches of liquorice and dried herbs. The palate is layered and complex with fine ripe tannins. Supple, opulent but balanced and elegantly structured. Floral and tobacco notes show through in a long finish.
Drinking well now but will cellar for 20 years.

The Vintage & Winemaking
This wine represents the first of Singlefile’s planned releases of exceptional wines from the most important wine regions of Australia. The fruit for this Shiraz was sourced from an established vineyard in the Moppa sub-region of the Barossa Valley.
The wine was made in open-top fermenters with twice daily pump-overs. It was basket pressed to French barriques to undergo malolactic fermentation and maturation for 18 months.
Minimal fining and filtration occurred. It was bottled on 10th September 2011.
